Troubleshooting no-starts is there gasoline in tank? fuel pump runs a few seconds when you turn on the key ? make sure there is fuel pressure. Spray ether (starting fluid) into throttle body does it run ? if yes, t-belt and valvae timing is good, engine develops compresson, spark plugs are firing .. if no either fuel or fuel pressure is lacking, ecu is not firing injectors .. stuck closed injectors can happen ..though that's on subaru engines that have been sitting a few years usually. check for injector pulse with a NOID light. #1 Disconnect wiring harness connector for each injector. You need to undo the connector from the fuel injector. #2 Plug the noid light into the harness connector. #3 Disable the ignition (easiest way is to unplug the ignitor). You want to ensure that the engine won't start. #4 Turn over the engine at the starter motor. #5 Check the noid light for flashing. If it flashes rapidly, your fuel injector is receiving a voltage signal. If you see no flash, you have an open in the power feed or ground circuit in the fuel injector, which could mean that your car's computer or connecting wires are defective. Note: When performing this test, make sure to not press the accelerator pedal. if no flash -on each injector ..you know the ecu is not triggering the injectors. Then you just work on that. check resistance checking each ground wire at the ecu ..there are about 7 or so. if high resistance. run new ground wires make sure there is fuel pressure. check timing belt instalation again
