Higher output alternator:
Late model subarus (see list below) have a higher output (90amp) alternator than what comes with the stock 90-94 ej22 (70amp).  They are a boltin upgrade and can usually be gotten from salvage yards for reasonable.  Ask your junkyard guy if he'll give you one to sweeten your engine purchase.
