My 90 Syncro/92 2.2L conversion has working cruise control...its a snap to hook up. You only need a few parts off a Subaru with the cruise control. You will need the dual cam throttle cable plate setup that's attached to the throttle body ....not sure what you call it...the one you want has TWO places to attach cables....one for the throttle and one for the cruise control...if your engine only has one cable attachement cam...you will need to get one off a Legacy that had cruise control that has two cams. > > The other pieces you need are the cruise control cable that attaches to the throttle body back to and including the round vacuum servo and its mounting bracket. Mine is about two inches in diameter and black plastic....the ones on later model cars are quite a bit bigger. > > Thats all you need.....just attach the cable to the throttle body....screw the bracket holding the servo into a convenient sidewall of the engine bay (mine is on the passenger side just under the lid) and plug the vacuum hose from the Vanagon cruise control right into it. Should be "plug and play"....mine worked perfectly right from the get-go. > > Warren C. Moderator Piece of cake.....if you already have CC in your Van. Just fasten the Subaru servo unit ( a round black plastic piece abou the size of a baby food jar) to the side of the engine bay in some convenient spot....(mines on the right side)...and connect the VW vacuum hose to it...hook up the throttle cable....and...as the English say,...."Bob's your Uncle!".
